ABOUT OPR plc

Orient Petroleum Resources Plc (OPR)in 2004 was one of the first Nigerian company to obtain an Authority to construct a private petroleum refinery in Nigeria. OPR was also granted OPLs 915 & 916 oil blocks petroleum prospecting license blocks by the FGN, to provide a dependable source of crude oil feedstock to the Orient Refinery and thus provide long-term security for the investment in the refinery.

Oil & Gas Production from OPLs 915 & 916 blocks

OPR has executed extensive 3D seismic data acquisition covering 640 sq. km in both OPLs 915 & 916 oil blocks, known to contain at least five hydrocarbon bearing fields and completed interpretation of 221 sq.km, re-entered existing ANAR-1 well in OPL 915 and commenced production testing and presently re-entering ALO-1 well in OPL 916. OPR is currently drilling two (2) new wells (ANAR-4 and ANAR-5) in OPL 915.

Refinery Development

OPR-Refining & Petrochemicals Plc was incorporated as a subsidary of OPR with the purpose of establishing a refinery to process crude oil produced by OPR from its oil and gas concessions into refined petroleum products in a phased steps to maximum licensed 55,000bpd. OPR has invested considerable amount of resources, including equity funding to create significant value and achieve several milestones; including land acquisition, completion of process equipment design, topographical surveys, geotechnical & geological surveys, search and successful drilling of water wells, site civil works including tank construction, which is in progress. OPR having successfully completed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) to proceed with the construction of its refinery.

OPR plc - E & P

OPR plc business started in OIL & Gas Exploration & Production. The company is concurrently developing the initial phase of oil and gas from its OPLs 915 & 916 blocks (2,158sq km) in the inland Anambra River basin of Nigeria, as well as the first phase full conversion, hydro-scheming 20,000bbls/d refinery to produce LPG, PMS, ATK/DPK & AGO.

OPR - Refining and Petrochemicals Company Ltd

Providing, Refinery, Petrochemicals Fertilizer, Lube Oil & Asphalt. In 2004, the federal government granted OPR license to establish, and construct a 55,000 bpd refinery in Anambra State. In 2011, the management voted to break the 55,000 bpd refinery into two phases and start with the construction and operation of a 20,000 bpd facility in order to maintain its commissioning schedule.

OPR plc - G & P

OPR's plans going forward is for gas processing, gas transmission, power generation and transmission layer to the project. However, the short term targets remain realizing a production level from new wells of 3000 bbls/day by end year and 10,000 bbls/day by mid 2016 followed by harnessing the gas resources to through production and sales of LPG initially and then the dry gas for CNG and LNG production.
